OK so it's been FOREVER since I have been on here. School started for the kids, work started for me, then life has rubbed its slimy self all over too!
After a momentary lapse of judgement I signed up in march to run Beachpalooza waaaaayyy in September, I started training and was getting into it, then summer hit, and I checked out! However, September came anyway and I ran the race and had a blast, Warrior Dash is next on the list! March 17th its mud time!!!
I have 2 friends who announced their pregnancies shortly before summer and I thought "Hey! I know I'll make them baby quilts!!" yeah and it was over. I looked all over for about 3 months for fabrics to math their themes, and FINALLY found some. Wouldn't you know it, that as soon as I sat down and started one baby, who shall remain nameless, greeted us about 3 weeks early!!! I hadn't even started his quilt at the time because I knew I had more time and the other baby was due before him. Well I feverishly started sewing away on his blanket and then baby number 2 who was baby number 1 came a week early also! Stress, stress, stress and I'm not even the new mommy! Lesson that I learned you ask? Let the blankets be a surprise next time! That way there's no stress! Anyway, I'm almost finished and I had fun making them! My machine has even been cooperating!
I recently even checked out a few books from the Harris County Public Library! I must have been feeling ill, because the first book I read... Hamlet, by THE William Shakespeare! I know I go from reading People magazine to that?! Something must be wrong! I read it and I enjoyed it! *Pat on the back*
Ya know after that crazy summer with no rain and HUGE water and electric bills, In August I gave up watering my watermelons and tomatoes etc, figuring they would never make it; but lo & behold I have had 4 watermelons grow and about a billion tomatoes. So now I feel like they were just screwing with me, however I am pretty sure I will be the only one with a winter watermelon harvest! In case you are wondering, I am willing to part with them for a mere $40 bucks a melon! :)
That's no where near all from my side but that's all I will bore you with in this blog!
I'll be posting pics of the blankets and in a few weeks, its CHRISTMAS TREE FARM day!!!! Yay! Hay ride, tire rolls, smores, hot cider, and of course the picking and cutting down of our Christmas tree! I can't believe its November already! And only 3 more days till an extra hour!!! WOOOOHOOOO!!!!
Talk to yall later!
