The kids had not been before, and they loved it, however I think the end where they get the free ice cream was the part they liked best! During the summers they don't show the video and they rush you though your tour. Non-the-less it was a good tour, and the Ice cream was the best;it is Blue Bell, duh!
Next trip I am thinking will be in September for the Washington County Fair, yeehaww!
I like this Picture, however, I wish I could have gotten a picture of Nick's face when he put his arm around the cow; apparently not thinking it would be too hot. Yeah, it was about 105 there today and that cow right there? Yeah its Iron! Good times! :)
After the Blue bell tour we went on to Independence, Texas. Spent a couple of hours out drving and walking through one of Texas' oldest historical areas. We saw another house where Sam Houston lived, the church he was baptised at (the river near it), an old cotton gin, a pretty cool old General store, the original location of Baylor University, and the house I will someday own. Of course if I had a better job, and made better decisions in my life who knows I could have owned it now! Oh well, someday maybe! I took pictures of the Historical Markers but I am a history nerd so I am not going to post those here! You're welcome!
As with everytime I leave the city and venture out into the peaceful and wide open spances of Texas, my heart aches to be left there. I am a country girl at heart, and I hope to one day be able to "breathe" in the country that I so long to be in!
